7Mykonos

Often associated with glamour and nightlife, Mykonos offers far more than its reputation suggests.

Its old town is one of the most photogenic in the Cyclades. Narrow whitewashed lanes twist between chapels, flower-filled balconies, and small squares that open unexpectedly onto the sea. The famous windmills and the waterfront quarter of Little Venice are especially atmospheric in the late afternoon.

What makes Mykonos especially appealing is the contrast between lively energy and quiet beauty. Early mornings often reveal a much calmer side of the island, when streets are still quiet and the light is soft.

Mykonos also serves as the gateway to nearby Delos, one of the most important sacred and archaeological sites of the ancient Greek world.
